My Photoshop Elements Newbie Blog

Hi,

I'm starting a new learning journey, try to pick up Photoshop Elements. As a long-time PSP user, it shouldn't be too hard. I think the hardest part will be staying motivated when it comes to learning new things. I can't count the number of times I've started to learn new software--whether it's Daz Studio, Bryce, Hexagon, or so on--only to get frustrated or to lose interest. So, I've decided to start a blog about the learning process. I thought maybe writing about it might make learning more interesting. If anyone is interested in reading along, the blog is here. Unless you're an amateur photographer or a digital scrapbooker, there isn't a lot out there on the web dealing with artistic uses of Elements, so it should be an interesting journey.

Kiki Revitalized Expressions - on sale through the 20th

I've scheduled my Kiki Revitalized Expressions on sale for $5 through the 20th. :)

Scheduled Sale - December 21-29th

Earlier this month, I scheduled a sale on my Kiki Expressions at Renderosity to run from the 21st to the 29th. Happy holidays.

New Freebies: Gumdrop Hair Fits

I've made a couple of hair fits for the Candy available.

The first is for Tuned In. You can download it here or from Renderosity Free Stuff.

The second is for Cutie Pie Cap. You can download it here or at Renderosity Free Stuff.

The fits aren't perfect. You might have to do some fine-tuning.

Enjoy.

Thoughts on seasonal Poser products

A few really cool Halloweenesque items have come out in the last week or so. As nifty as some of them are, this really irritates me year-after-year. Normally, I start thinking Halloween for seasonal projects in late August to early September, not just mere days from Halloween (or Halloween itself like a few of this years' commercial products were released). I could use these products a lot sooner. As it stands now with things be released right before Halloween, I only bought a couple of things I can see "other" uses for besides Halloween renders. The rest got wishlisted. A lot of it, let's face it, I probably won't buy. Not because it's not great stuff or I don't like it. Just because funds are limited and wishlists are already gigantic. It makes me sad, because I like Halloween and hate to pass up on great products that make me have that, "Oooh, shiny" reaction. However, when themed items are released so close to Halloween, the stores don't give me much choice. :( I always hope that the stores will catch a clue that not everybody has time to do seasonal projects just before the "big day," but they never do. And they probably never will. :(

New Freebie: Emoti-Clock -- Fall Back

I experimented with a similar idea in a scene last fall. I've managed to misplace the original files, but quickly created this one. The zip file contains one image in two sizes as .PNGs. The image was rendered at each size, not merely resized.

Click here to download the zip file.

Enjoy.
