New Freebie: Enchanted for Littlest Witch

I have a new freebie to share today. I'll get a permanent web page set up for it in a few days. I wanted to get it packed and available so nothing happens to in the meantime. This is a Poser shader material set that I used in several of my personal 2011 Halloween renders. To use this set, you'll need ART-Collab's Littlest Witch for Candy and Candy (The Gumdrop Base Figure). You will also need Poser 5 or later. These materials will NOT work in Daz|Studio.

In the archive, you'll get material settings for: The Littlest Witch dress, gloves, socks, shoes, and hat. I've saved the materials as MAT-Poses for easier use. Please note: there are no .jpg files for bump maps, displacement maps, or textures. These are strictly Poser procedural shaders. Click on the preview for full-size.

When rendering, please remember that Poser shaders are sensitive to lighting. The results you'll get depend on your light settings in each scene. The images for the promo were rendered in Poser 7 with the LW_Light1 set that comes with ART-Collab's Littlest Witch. There is more information in the "readme" file enclosed in the shader archive.

New Freebie: Zombie Fae PNGs

Brand new for you: 4 cute zombie-faerie .PNG images. With a plastic star wand in one hand, and nice big lollipop in the other, this dead girl is ready to rock your creations. Click on the preview to enlarge it.

The idea for a cute "Gummy" zombie dressed sort of hap-hazardly as a faerie came to me a while back. Then life kind of got derailed, but I did get back to it. And,yes, the "costume" does sort of look cobbled together and hap-hazard because it is. LOL I didn't want it to look TOO perfect. A zombie is dead, after all. Zo-Fae, as I've kind of dubbed this creation, has made a couple of appearances in pictures for Halloween. And, I made the few stand-alone images that are included in this zip to share.

I do realize the delivery of these is a bit late--pushing the boundaries of usability for this year--and I'm sorry. If you would like the set, please click here to download it.

Limited Freebie: Simply Halloween for DeeDee's Spring Fling

Well...

I had all kinds of ideas to get out there as freebies for Halloween this year. However, in typical fashion, my life fell apart and we had several family situations to deal with, including the passing of loved one. :( It truly is getting to be the story of my life... :(

I do have, however, one limited-time freebie I'm going to offer here. It's a very simple texture set for DeeDee's Summer Breeze - Spring Fling dress for the original Millennium Girls from Daz. I started the set with the intention of going back and making it a little fancier, but I'm simply not going to have time because I'm probably the world's slowest texturer, if not the world's worst... :(

Blog Images Fixed & Finally Joined DA...

Hello!

Wow, why is it life always gets really insane when you're in no mood for it. I want so badly to be creating new stuff in Poser and PSP and that blasted thing called "real life" has to go get in the way... *sigh*

Anyhow... The images for this blog are fixed, thanks to my benefactor, Salashin. There was a behind the scenes issue that's fixed now. I just happened to come by and notice the images weren't working. :(

Can you believe I finally took the plunge and joined Deviant Art after all these years of resisting...? Well, what can I say...? I really needed another subscription like I need a whole in the head... But maybe I'll find something inspiring there. I know I occasionally see tutorials and stuff there that look interesting.... Time will tell, I feel like a total newbie and idiot over there right now...

Some time in the next week or so, I hope to make an entry in the "My Favorite Poser Purchases series that I started. I also have another series of posts in mind. So keep checking back...

A new pack of eight free Cookie .pngs for everyone today. I think these turned out pretty darn cute. All despite the fact that Poser crashed on me before I saved the main shader that I made for the clothing the first time around, too. I had to start over. And guess what? These aren't purple! They're a pretty combination of blue and green. Am I allowed to say that I really like how my blue-green shader turned out...? LOL

I feel like I've been on a real bender of bitc... er... complaining about my Poser content lately (my apologies to the friends that have put up with it). I've hit a streak of buying lemons again, what can say...?! However, I really think I need to start balancing things back out. So, to lighten back up (and keep myself awake: insomnia sucks), I'm going to start a series of entries about my favorite Poser purchases. Who cares? I don't know...? Maybe someone will. Or maybe someone will discover something new that they love. So it's all good" (as the kiddies say), right? Oh, sure, some people may claim that my doing so will be unfair to some merchants/stores/whatever... But... Well, I don't care, to be honest...

Alright... So let's go. This first entry will start out as a bit of a downer as I explain my complicated relationship with a certain figure. Hang in there, however, it will get positive.

Who do you love? Not A3...

Those of you that "know" me a little bit from Poserverse may know that I had a love-hate relationship with Aiko 3 (A3) from pretty much the start of my Poser adventures in late 2005. I loved a lot of her clothing, but I just didn't like her. I found it difficult to give her anything resembling an expression (except that famous blank, vapid look). I especially couldn't stand the way her teeth and mouth looked when trying to give her an expression. I tried and tried to like her, but just couldn't really establish a good "working relationship" with her. I even started a thread about it here where I appealed to her fans for help. Even though I bought some amazing morphs, textures, and so on, for her, I could never claim to be an A3 fan. Working with her caused me too much stress to enjoy the process. However, I still had this addictive habit of buying her clothing.

Flash Forward - Destination: Summer-Autumn 2007

I believe it was in late summer/early autumn of 2007 that RDNA , Littlefox, and Redspark showed the world first sneek peeks of Melody & Micah for Aiko and Hiro 3. I remember being amazed and incredibly excited. I thought they were wonderfully beautiful and couldn't wait to get my hands on them. Especially Melody. I snatched them up as soon as I could and it was... l-o-v-e. I not only had a beautiful figure to work with, but Melody also could wear almost of all the beautiful Aiko 3 clothing that was in the marketplaces (quite a bit of which I had collected even though I had a less than stellar track record with A3). That's how Melody, along with her Furries morphs and white tiger texture, became the digital me that you see on this blog and my corner of web space, as well as in my galleries. :) Just between you and me, I actually do more Melody renders that I actually post publicly. LOL

Ah, history...

You know, what they say about history is true. It can come back to haunt. A long-forgotten post here on a long-dead thread recently got a response here. My reply is just below her's here. Thankfully, all that A3 animosity is history, thanks to Littlefox, Capsces, and Melody. Now I no longer feel so ashamed about my A3 clothes buying fetish... Because, hey, my favorite feline female has to have something new to wear every now and then. :) Sadly, though, A3 content is starting to dry up and blow away (mostly thanks to Rendo's ridiculous clearance policy (but that's a blog post for another day). I'm just happy to catch what I can, when I can. :)

Kit Love! And Halloween Freebies

Anybody else out there love LLF's Kit figure for Poser? She's one of my favorite figures, but she's a vastly under-loved by vendors and freebie-makers alike. I have two new freebies available for Kit at KCTC Freebies.

First, on Poses page 6, is Kelsey. A boyish face preset for Kit and Capsces' Pee Pot morphs.

Check out page 20 in the textures section for my "Autumn Mix" set for Trumarcar's wonderful free baby clothes for Kit.

The set ontains mix-n-match textures for Trumarcar's Kit outfits. You'll need

LLF's Panda Poses & Expressions & Nina Expressions

Two new freebies today...

I just uploaded a set of poses and expressions for Littlefox's Toon Panda. To use them, you'll either need Fortune Cookie or the stand-alone Toon Panda. Click image for uncompressed preview.

I also created a set of expressions for The3DZone's new figure Nina. Click preview for uncompressed view.

There is also a set of three very simple poses on the Nina expressions page. They were a last minute addition. They're too simple and insignificant to warrant repackaging the expressions or adding an additional page for them. They'll probably work on Nana with a bit of tweaking since Nina and Nana have the same body.

I've been "under the weather" for a few days, so I was completely offline. Thankfully, I'm starting to feel better again. Here's another Nina pic that I started last night and worked on through out today. Nina is feeling a bit sassy, don't you think?

Nina is wearing PixelatedChic's cute overalls and a hair refit by The3DZone. She's surrounded by "toys" by Littlefox, Sam's 3D, and Traveler. The carpet is a Poser shader that I created and applied to the ground plane in Poser. I missed playing with Nina, despite feeling like I was going to die. Ah, the life of a Poser addict. Have I mentioned that I love, love, love Nina? LOL

Well, that's it for tonight. I'm off to take some medicine and settle in to watch Supernatural (one of my few remaining guilty pleasrues). :o)

The 3DZone's Nina -- Sneak Peek-- 3

A couple of new Nina sneak peeks. Poser is still being a pill, so I had a rough time last night and this morning. I swear Poser has a mind of it's own sometimes. Any way, click each pic for a better look.

I really like how this first one turned out. I added a bit of a soft focus to it. The edges of the flower came out a bit sharp looking. I don't know how describe it other than that.

I'm really not very happy with this second one. As it is, this is the second incarnation of it, there was originally a different background set in here. I replaced the background set, and while I like it better with this, I really can't get the lighting to where I'm happy with it. I wanted to show the boy morph that's included though. Can't you just hear, "And where do you think you're going, little Mister?" LOL

I still have a few more. Maybe Poser will decide to be nice and they'll come together in the final stages and render well. If they do, I'll post them tomorrow.

Poser is being an absolute pill today, so I only have a couple new sneak peek pics of Nina. Click each pic for the uncompressed veiw.

I started this scene on Friday. It turned out cute. It probably could have used some more things in the distant background, but I don't have any gulls. I couldn't think of anything else.

Simple pic here. Nina with a backpack. Background is Predatron3d's "The Lounge." The backpack looks a bit big, but most kids these days seem to be traipsing around with bags that are too big for them. My sweater shader went a bit wonky... I kind of like it though.LOL Hair texture here is by me...

I still have a few more Nina scenes that are under construction, so I'll probably be back with them tomorrow if Poser and I can come to some sort of truce.

The 3DZone's Nina -- Sneak Peek--

I recently received an e-mail from The3DZone asking me if I'd like a sneak peek at Nina, an upcoming figure. What could I say except, "Yes!" Nina is so very adorable. I think toon fans are going to love her. I have 3DZ's permission to post pics. Click each pic to view it at full size.

This first pic is just a fae portrait (a quick warm up). I added a couple of ding shapes I made from a font (Manfred Klein's DingbumBats) using Font To Mesh Express Converter.

The second pic is Nina on Esha's Toon Terrace (available at RDNA). I made the pic look a digital postcard.

The captain found a little girl stowing away... She apparently doesn't quite understand there is definitely a difference between pirates and sailors.

Looks like someone got caught snoozin'....

I adore Nina so far. I think she has a sweet little face. I love the fact that she can wear Nana's clothes (except head gear). I'm not good at fitting hair to characters, but even I found it pretty easy to fit The3DZone's Toon Hair Kit 1 items to this wonderful little figure. I can't wait to play with this little cutie some more. She seems to have re-ignited my creative spark, so there will probably be more pics along the way. My thanks to The3DZone for giving me an opportunity to try her out!

Stuffed with Love - Toon Tiger Poses & Expressions

Wow... I'm usually pretty good about installing Poser products after purchasing (it's usually getting around to using them in a scene that takes me forever). Lately, I've been in a mood and they sort of stacked up on me. I've been working on installing stuff the last few evenings. I really have to say, after sitting here spending so long checking and installing purchases... I'm annoyed at some of my favorite vendors. Not because of anything wrong with the products, because I haven't tested them yet... But because of how some of them are packaged. There were a lot of those Thumb.db files in the installers and a few Paint Shop Pro Browser files. Now having to clean up after people when downloading quality freebies is one thing. Hey, they're free, so if I have to delete a few trash files, I'm not going to bitch too much... However, having to delete other peoples' garbage out of installers that I've paid for... that's another thing entirely. I shouldn't have to pay to delete other peoples' junk files. Basically, I ain't your mama and I don't want to chase after you with a virtual broom, especially if I've paid good money to use your product(s). Period. In my opinion, the Poser store fronts should make vendors delete these--and other--junk files out of final their product installers. The customer should never have to clean up after a merchant or a store front. In fact, it's very easy to disable the creation of these particular files all together if said vendors and marketplaces don't want to take the responsibility to delete files from individual product packages.

Disable Paint Shop Pro Browser Files

Clean installers would make me a happier customer and I'd be more likely to be a repeat customer. Being a happier customer means I might actually get around to using those shiny, newly-installed products (i.e.to show them off) sooner too. :)

I was going through some files the other day and found some pretty cute Halloween .pngs. These were rendered way, way back in September 2007. Although I'm not sure how useful they'll be to anyone since they're so old, I thought I'd upload and offer them here.

I'm trying to go through files and sort them out, burn the keepers to backup... Doesn't sound too bad, right? Well... Considering I've been trying to get this done for months, it's pretty bad. Seriously! Every time I get really going on getting the job done, something comes up: family emergencies, I get sick, cd burner starts acting up... If I'm entirely honest, yes, some days I just feel lazy and don't want to think about it. LOL

Going to give this blogging thing a try

For better or worse, I'm going to give this blogging thing a try. I have no idea what I'll write about yet... But maybe the journey will be fun. I never thought I'd be a graphics-aholic (Paint Shop Pro and Poser), either... In fact, when we got our first computer, I was pretty computer illiterate, but I've come a long way since then. So who knows where this blog thing will lead... Maybe it'll be just a way to decompress and unwind and no one will read it. Maybe I'll make a few new friends and have a lot of fun too. Only time will tell.
